There were 4 girls who met an accident 25 years ago, and 3 of them disappeared. The survivor, Olivia, had several operations on her leg because of the accident, making her walk unstable sometimes. She carries with her the guilt and pain because they were her friends.

Since it has been 25 years and still no news as to what happened to the 3 girls, a journalist named Jenna went to the place not to investigate the case but to gather infomation by interviewing Olivia, the families of the victims, and the locals, for her podcast. She believed that the information when aired, may make someone remember and will give new infomation to the authorities that might help solve the case.

But some where not happy of her being there and interviewing people. She began to receive scary messages, scaring her to leave the place right away.

Because of her journalist skills such as being observant and logical, she unravel a lot of information that is very relevant to the case.

I was entertained by this book because I was not expecting who the culprits are. It has a great plot twist revealing them and the reason why everything happened.

While reading, I commend Jenna for being so brave despite being alone going to that place, for interviewing the bereaved families who have been clueless for 25 years as to what happened to the 3 girls, for being persistent to have the podcast whatever it takes.

Book Review: Anna O by Matthew Blake

Book Review: Anna O by Matthew Blake

๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ:

Anna O is about a double murder suspect but is asleep for 4 years after the crime was made. With that, the investigation is pending.

There is a clinical psychologist named Dr. Prince who specializes in sleep disorders who made a promising research paper about a diagnostic model that can help forensic psychology. Although the paper is not yet peer reviewed, the Ministry of Justice wants him to try it to Anna O, that she may wake up and proceed with the trial.

Aside from the method, he also investigated the past of Anna O and incorporate it in his process. Anna O woke up eventually but there were a lot of problems encountered along the way.

The human mind always facinates me. I am so intrigued with this book and I am amazed with the flow of the story, on how each character and event was built up. It is clinical/medical but a layperson can really understand it. The pace is fast, so you cannot put down the book because you want to know the next scene. Yes, the plot twist is so unexpected.

Book Review: The Catch by T.M. Logan

Book Review: The Catch by T.M. Logan

๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ:

The characters of the story include Ryan, the new boyfriend of Abbie, who is the daughter of Claire and Ed. Basically, the story revolved around these 4 characters.

Ryan and Abbie became a couple for 7 months want to get their relationship to the next level, so they got engaged. They also want to have the weeding in about a month since Abbie wants her grandmother to attend. The grandmother is old and sickly. Delaying the wedding day has a big chance that she can no longer attend. As parents, Claire and Ed were shocked but eventually got fine with it because they need to support the decision of their daughter.

However, Ed has a very bad vibes regarding Ryan. As a father, he has this intuition that Ryan is hiding something. He knows deep inside that whatever he is seeing in Ryan is not true.

So he made a move to know if what he sensed is true or not, in order to protect his daughter Abbie.

๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜„:

This is just a typical story where someone has sensed something negative, he works his way to unravel the truth.

What I like about the story is that it has a lot of plot twists, wherein Ed has a lot of things done to discover the things Ryan is hiding, but Ryan is always 1 step behind him.

How the author describes the scene is also thrilling, I canโ€™t let go of the book even if I know that this is a typical story.

Also, I was not expecting that there will be deaths in the main characters. It is realistic if it happens in real life.

Book Review: Blindsight by Robin Cook

Book Review: Blindsight by Robin Cook

๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ:

This is a story of a pathologist who observed that the series of deaths that happened in the area is not just a plain overdosing of drugs, but there is more to it. As she continues to conduct post morten to the victims, she discovered similarities among them and her gut feeling told her to do something. With that, she investigated where she met people who made connections to the discovery of the real culprit.

๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜„:

I like this book because it is action-packed right from the start. Every description the author makes, I am taken away. This is also because I am familiar with the scientific terms since I took up Biology in college.

Although I like how the pacing and the action is, it was not that intense when they found out who the real culprit is. The discovery is not that thrilling, and the reason for making the crimes is not that mind-blowing . It is also predictable that he is the culprit.

This is my 2nd book of Robin Cook and I enjoy reading his medical thrillers. I have 1 more TBR and I am excited.
